Seminars & Webinars

Le Verger hosts interactive seminars and webinars exploring the spiritual dimension of Christian Science nursing. These gatherings offer a space for study, reflection, and sharing around biblical and theological themes, while emphasizing the practice and ethics of Christian Science nursing.

Our events are designed to deepen understanding, strengthen compassion, and support a caring approach grounded in spirituality and healing.

Seminar 1: The Spiritual Dimension of Care - The Good Samaritan

This interactive one-day seminar explores the spiritual dimension of Christian Science nursing and the art of caring. The morning begins with a deep study of Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan, followed by the account of Jesus’ healing of Jairus’ daughter. Participants explore the qualities of compassion, watchfulness, and spiritual authority that are foundational to Christian Science nursing.

We examine the basis of Christian Science nursing as found in the Bible, the theology of Christian Science, and the Manual By-law for the Christian Science Nurse. The seminar also includes time to reflect on two illustrations from Christ and Christmas Treating the Sick and Christian Science Healing.

In the afternoon, we trace over 100 years of Christian Science nursing history, explore its evolution, and review the Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services. The day concludes with an interactive Q&A and discussion focusing on what Christian Science nurses do — and do not do — and the ethical foundations of the ministry.

Seminar 2: The Shunammite & the Upper Room

This interactive four-hour follow-up seminar explores the spiritual qualities exemplified by the Shunammite woman and the preparation of an “upper room.” Participants examine how these accounts reflect the ministry of Christian Science nursing, fostering an expectancy of complete and quick healing.

The seminar also provides a thoughtful study of the distinct yet complementary roles of the Christian Science nurse and the Christian Science practitioner. Together, we review both the Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services and the Christian Science Practitioner Scope of Services, highlighting their parallels and differences in supporting Christian Science healing.
